This research project focuses on exploring the impact of social media on mental health among teenagers. Social media has become an integral part of daily life for teenagers, with platforms like Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok being widely used for communication and self-expression. While social media offers numerous benefits such as connecting with others, sharing experiences, and accessing information, there is growing concern about its negative effects on mental well-being, particularly among adolescents. The research aims to investigate the relationship between social media usage and mental health outcomes in teenagers. It will examine how factors such as the amount of time spent on social media, the type of content consumed, and interactions with others online can influence mental health indicators like self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and body image issues. By analyzing existing literature and conducting surveys or interviews with teenagers, the project seeks to gain a deeper understanding of the mechanisms through which social media impacts mental health. Furthermore, the research will explore potential strategies and interventions to mitigate the negative effects of social media on teenagers' mental well-being.
