Abstract
This research project focuses on examining the impact of social media on mental health among young adults. The study aims to investigate how the use of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter influences the mental well-being of individuals aged 18 to 25 years. The research will analyze the various ways in which social media can both positively and negatively affect mental health, including its role in promoting social connections, self-esteem, and body image concerns. Furthermore, the study will explore the potential links between excessive social media usage and mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and loneliness. Through surveys and interviews with young adults, the research will gather data on their social media habits, emotional experiences, and perceptions of mental health. By comparing the responses from individuals who use social media frequently with those who use it sparingly, the study aims to identify patterns and correlations between social media use and mental health outcomes. Additionally, the project will examine the influence of different types of social media content, such as images, videos, and text posts, on mental well-being. The findings of this research are expected to contribute to a better understanding of the complex relationship between social media and mental health in young adults. By shedding light on the potential benefits and drawbacks of social media use, the study aims to provide insights that can inform mental health interventions and support strategies for this population.
