Abstract
The study aimed to investigate the impact of social media usage on mental health among young adults. A sample of 500 participants aged 18-30 was recruited for the study. The participants completed a series of questionnaires assessing their social media usage patterns, mental health status, and perceived social support. The results indicated a significant positive correlation between the amount of time spent on social media and symptoms of depression and anxiety. Moreover, individuals who reported higher levels of social media addiction also reported lower levels of perceived social support. These findings suggest that excessive social media usage may have detrimental effects on mental health outcomes among young adults. Further research is needed to explore the underlying mechanisms of this relationship and to develop interventions aimed at promoting healthier social media habits and improving mental well-being in this population.
