Abstract
The governance of Delta State from a moral theological perspective involves examining the ethical dimensions of leadership and decision-making within the state. This research project aims to analyze the governance structure in Delta State through the lens of moral theology, exploring the implications of moral principles and values on governance practices. By delving into the intersection of morality, theology, and governance, this study seeks to provide insights into how ethical considerations can shape policies, procedures, and leadership in Delta State. The project will utilize a qualitative research approach, drawing on moral theological frameworks to evaluate the current governance practices in Delta State. Through in-depth interviews with key stakeholders, analysis of policy documents, and review of existing literature, the research will investigate the ethical underpinnings of governance in the state. By engaging with moral theological perspectives, the study aims to uncover the ethical challenges faced by leaders in Delta State and propose recommendations for enhancing ethical leadership and decision-making. Key areas of focus will include accountability, transparency, justice, and the common good in governance. By examining these core ethical principles through a moral theological lens, the research will shed light on how leaders in Delta State can navigate complex governance issues while upholding ethical standards. Furthermore, the project will explore the role of religion and spirituality in shaping the moral fabric of governance in the state, investigating how faith-based values can influence decision-making processes.
