The rapid advancement of social media platforms has revolutionized communication patterns and language use globally. This thesis explores the profound impact of social media communication on the evolution and change of language. The study delves into the ways in which social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and others, influence language trends, linguistic innovations, and the overall dynamics of communication in the digital age. Through a comprehensive analysis of existing literature, this research investigates the mechanisms through which social media shapes language evolution, including the emergence of new words, phrases, and communication styles. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, presenting the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. The literature review in Chapter Two critically examines ten key studies related to social media communication and language evolution, highlighting key findings, methodologies, and theoretical frameworks used in previous research.
