This thesis investigates the impact of co-operative enterprises on economic development in rural communities. Co-operatives have long been identified as potential vehicles for fostering economic growth, especially in rural areas where access to traditional forms of business support may be limited. The study aims to explore the role that co-operatives play in enhancing economic development, with a specific focus on rural communities. Through a comprehensive analysis of existing literature, primary data collection, and statistical analysis, this research seeks to provide valuable insights into the significance of co-operative enterprises in driving economic progress in rural settings. The thesis begins by introducing the research topic and providing the background context of co-operative enterprises and their historical significance in rural development efforts. The problem statement highlights the gaps in existing knowledge regarding the specific impact of co-operatives on economic development in rural communities.
