This thesis investigates the impact of co-operative societies on economic development in developing countries, focusing on the unique role these societies play in fostering economic growth and sustainable development. The study explores how co-operatives contribute to poverty reduction, employment generation, income distribution, and overall economic stability within the context of a developing country. By examining the operations, challenges, and success factors of co-operative societies, this research aims to provide valuable insights into the potential benefits and limitations of this model for economic development. The research begins with a comprehensive review of existing literature on co-operatives and their impact on economic development, highlighting key theories, concepts, and empirical studies in this field.
