Abstract
This research project aims to investigate the role of office environment in workers' productivity, with a focus on establishments in Owerri, Imo State. The office environment plays a crucial role in influencing the productivity and well-being of employees. A conducive office environment can lead to increased job satisfaction, motivation, and ultimately higher productivity levels. On the other hand, a poor office environment can result in decreased morale, higher stress levels, and lower productivity. The study will utilize a mixed-methods approach, combining both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods. Surveys will be distributed to employees in various establishments in Owerri to gather quantitative data on their perceptions of the office environment and its impact on their productivity. Additionally, interviews and focus group discussions will be conducted to gather in-depth insights into the specific aspects of the office environment that influence workers' productivity. The research will focus on key elements of the office environment, including physical workspace design, amenities, lighting, noise levels, temperature control, and overall comfort. By examining these factors, the study aims to identify the most critical aspects of the office environment that contribute to workers' productivity in Owerri, Imo State. The findings of this research project are expected to provide valuable insights for employers and managers in Owerri to enhance their office environments and improve workers' productivity. By understanding the factors that influence productivity, organizations can make informed decisions to create a more conducive work environment for their employees. Ultimately, this can lead to increased job satisfaction, employee engagement, and overall organizational performance. In conclusion, this research project on the role of office environment in workers' productivity in establishments in Owerri, Imo State, seeks to contribute to the existing body of knowledge on workplace dynamics.
