Abstract
The rapid advancement in technology has led to the emergence of smart buildings that are equipped with various sensors and automation systems to enhance energy efficiency and occupant comfort. In light of this, the development of an Intelligent Energy Management System (IEMS) for smart buildings has become increasingly important. This thesis aims to design and implement an IEMS that can optimize energy consumption, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact in smart buildings. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research, presenting the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. Chapter Two consists of a comprehensive literature review, covering ten key aspects related to energy management systems, smart buildings, automation technologies, and energy optimization strategies. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology employed in this study, including the research design, data collection methods, data analysis techniques, and evaluation criteria.
