Thesis Abstract

<p> This project aims to investigate the role of plant secondary metabolites in defense against herbivores. Plant secondary metabolites are chemical compounds produced by plants that are not directly involved in their growth and development. These compounds often play a crucial role in plant defense mechanisms, acting as deterrents or toxins to herbivores. The project will involve analyzing the types and concentrations of secondary metabolites in different plant species and studying their effects on herbivore feeding behavior and survival. The findings will contribute to our understanding of plant-herbivore interactions and may have implications for pest management strategies in agriculture. <br></p>
