Blockchain technology has gained significant attention in recent years due to its potential to revolutionize various industries, including the banking sector. This thesis explores the application of blockchain technology in enhancing financial transaction security within the banking sector. The study aims to investigate how blockchain technology can address the challenges of security, transparency, and efficiency in financial transactions. The research begins with an introduction outlining the background of the study, the problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definitions of key terms. A comprehensive literature review in Chapter Two examines existing research on blockchain technology, financial transactions security, and the adoption of blockchain in the banking sector. Chapter Three details the research methodology, including the research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, and data analysis procedures. The study utilizes both qualitative and quantitative research methods to gather insights from banking professionals, IT experts, and blockchain specialists. Chapter Four presents a detailed discussion of the findings, analyzing how blockchain technology can enhance security in financial transactions, improve transparency, and streamline processes within the banking sector. The chapter also evaluates the challenges and potential risks associated with implementing blockchain technology. Finally, Chapter Five provides a summary of the research findings, conclusions drawn from the study, and recommendations for future research and practical implementation. The study concludes that blockchain technology has the potential to significantly enhance financial transaction security in the banking sector, leading to improved trust, efficiency, and cost savings.
