**Abstract
** The emergence of cryptocurrencies has revolutionized the traditional banking sector, prompting a need to analyze the implications of their adoption within banking systems. This thesis investigates the impact of integrating cryptocurrencies into traditional banking operations, focusing on the opportunities and challenges that arise. Through a comprehensive literature review, this study explores the historical background and evolution of cryptocurrencies, as well as the current landscape of their adoption by financial institutions. The research methodology involves a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative interviews with key stakeholders in the banking industry and quantitative analysis of data related to cryptocurrency transactions.
