Urban areas around the world face challenges related to deteriorating industrial infrastructure, vacant buildings, and the need for sustainable development. In response to these challenges, the concept of adaptive reuse has emerged as a viable solution for urban regeneration. This thesis explores the potential of adaptive reuse in transforming industrial buildings into vibrant, functional spaces that contribute to the revitalization of urban areas. The study begins with an examination of the background of urban regeneration and the significance of adaptive reuse in addressing the issues associated with industrial buildings. By reviewing existing literature on adaptive reuse and urban regeneration, the thesis establishes a theoretical framework for understanding the key concepts and principles that guide the process of transforming industrial buildings. The research methodology section outlines the approach taken to investigate the topic, including data collection methods, case study analysis, and interviews with key stakeholders involved in urban regeneration projects.
