Abstract
This thesis investigates the application of sustainable design strategies in addressing the challenges of urban affordable housing projects. With the rapid urbanization and increasing demand for affordable housing, there is a critical need to explore innovative design approaches that prioritize sustainability without compromising affordability. The study aims to identify and analyze sustainable design strategies that can enhance the quality, affordability, and environmental performance of urban affordable housing projects. The research begins with an introduction that sets the context for the study, highlighting the significance of sustainable design in the context of urban affordable housing. The background of the study provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of urban housing, emphasizing the need for sustainable solutions. The problem statement identifies the key challenges faced in urban affordable housing projects, such as high construction costs, limited resources, and environmental impact. The objectives of the study are to investigate existing sustainable design strategies, assess their applicability to urban affordable housing projects, and propose innovative approaches to enhance sustainability and affordability.
