Abstract
This thesis investigates the impact of archaeological sites on tourism development, focusing on a specific case study. The research aims to explore how archaeological sites contribute to tourism growth and sustainability, as well as the challenges and opportunities associated with managing and promoting these sites for tourism purposes. Through a comprehensive literature review, the study examines the relationship between archaeology and tourism, highlighting the significance of heritage tourism in fostering economic, social, and cultural benefits for both local communities and visitors. The research methodology involves a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative interviews with stakeholders, site assessments, and visitor surveys to gather data on visitor perceptions, site management practices, and the overall tourism experience. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, presenting the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. Chapter Two presents a detailed literature review on archaeology and tourism, exploring ten key themes related to the intersection of these fields. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology, including data collection methods, sampling strategies, data analysis techniques, and ethical considerations.
