This thesis investigates the significant role played by archaeological sites in promoting sustainable tourism, with a specific focus on a chosen region. The study aims to explore how these historical sites can be effectively leveraged to support the principles of sustainable tourism development, considering the economic, social, and environmental aspects involved. Through a comprehensive case study approach, the research delves into the specific context of the selected region to analyze the current state of archaeological tourism, identify challenges and opportunities, and propose strategies for enhancing sustainability in tourism practices. The introductory section provides a background to the study, outlining the importance of archaeological sites as cultural heritage assets and their potential for driving tourism growth. The problem statement highlights the existing gaps in sustainable tourism practices at archaeological sites and underscores the need for tailored strategies to address these issues. The research objectives aim to investigate the relationship between archaeological sites and sustainable tourism, assess the limitations of current practices, and propose recommendations for improvement. The scope of the study defines the geographic and thematic boundaries within which the research will be conducted, while the significance of the study underscores its potential contributions to both academic knowledge and practical tourism management.
