Abstract
This thesis investigates the impact of archaeological sites on tourism development in a specific region, shedding light on the interconnectedness between cultural heritage, tourism, and regional development. The study explores how archaeological sites serve as significant attractions for tourists and contribute to the overall economic, social, and cultural development of the region. By examining the relationship between tourism and archaeology, this research aims to provide insights into how the preservation and promotion of archaeological sites can be leveraged for sustainable tourism development. The research methodology employed a mixed-method approach, incorporating both qualitative and quantitative data collection techniques. Through surveys, interviews, and site visits, data was gathered from tourists, local communities, tourism stakeholders, and archaeological site managers. The analysis of this data revealed the importance of archaeological sites as key drivers of tourism in the region and highlighted the various challenges and opportunities associated with their management and development.
