Abstract
This thesis investigates the impact of archaeological sites on tourism development in a selected region, aiming to understand the interplay between cultural heritage preservation, tourism growth, and community engagement. The study is situated within the context of the growing significance of heritage tourism and the need to balance conservation efforts with economic development. Through a comprehensive analysis of archaeological sites and their influence on tourism in the selected region, this research seeks to provide insights into how these sites can be effectively managed to maximize their potential benefits while mitigating potential negative impacts. The introductory chapter sets the stage by presenting the background of the study, defining the problem statement, outlining the objectives, discussing the limitations and scope of the study, highlighting the significance of the research, and providing an overview of the thesis structure. The literature review chapter critically examines existing scholarship on the relationship between archaeological sites and tourism, covering topics such as heritage tourism, site management strategies, visitor experiences, and community involvement.
