This thesis investigates the impact of archaeological sites on tourism development through a case study approach. The study aims to understand the relationship between archaeological heritage and tourism, exploring how the preservation and promotion of archaeological sites contribute to tourism development. The research is guided by the overarching question How do archaeological sites influence tourism development, and what are the implications for sustainable heritage management and tourism growth? Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, outlining the background of the study, the problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definitions of key terms. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review, examining existing research on the connection between archaeological sites and tourism development. The chapter explores key concepts, theories, and previous studies related to heritage tourism, cultural heritage management, sustainable tourism, and the economic, social, and environmental impacts of tourism on archaeological sites.
