This thesis investigates the significance of archaeological sites in driving sustainable tourism development. The study explores the intersection between archaeology and tourism, aiming to understand how ancient sites can be leveraged to promote sustainable practices within the tourism industry. Through a comprehensive literature review, the research delves into the historical background of archaeological tourism, highlighting its evolution and impact on local communities and economies. By identifying the key challenges and opportunities faced by archaeological sites in the context of sustainable tourism, this study seeks to provide valuable insights for policymakers, heritage managers, and tourism practitioners.
