Tourism and archaeology share a complex relationship, with tourism often playing a significant role in the preservation and interpretation of archaeological sites. This thesis examines the impact of tourism on archaeological sites, focusing on a specific location to provide a detailed case study. The selected location serves as a microcosm for understanding broader trends and challenges associated with tourism and archaeology. Through a mixed-methods approach that includes on-site observations, surveys, and interviews with stakeholders, this study seeks to analyze the effects of tourism on the preservation, interpretation, and management of archaeological sites. The research aims to identify both positive and negative impacts, such as increased visitation leading to enhanced site visibility but also potential risks of damage and commercialization. By exploring the perspectives of local communities, tourists, archaeologists, and heritage managers, this research aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics between tourism and archaeology.
