Thesis Abstract

This research project aims to analyze the role of archaeology in promoting tourism in post-conflict regions. It will explore how archaeological sites and heritage resources can contribute to the reconciliation, healing, and socio-economic recovery of communities affected by conflict. The study will examine case studies of post-conflict regions that have utilized archaeology as a tool for peacebuilding and tourism development. It will consider factors such as heritage preservation, community engagement, and the role of tourism in fostering intercultural dialogue. By analyzing the challenges and opportunities of promoting archaeological tourism in post-conflict regions, this research will provide valuable insights for policymakers, peacebuilding practitioners, and tourism stakeholders interested in leveraging archaeology for post-conflict recovery
