Abstract
The poultry industry plays a crucial role in meeting the increasing demand for animal protein worldwide. Among poultry species, broiler chickens are the most widely consumed due to their rapid growth rate and high feed efficiency. The feeding strategy employed in broiler production significantly influences growth performance, feed utilization, and overall profitability. This study aimed to investigate the effect of different feeding strategies on the growth performance of broiler chickens. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, outlining the background of the study, the problem statement, research objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review covering ten key aspects related to broiler nutrition, feeding strategies, growth performance parameters, and previous research findings in the field. Chapter Three details the research methodology, including the research design, population and sample selection, data collection methods, experimental setup, feeding protocols, and statistical analysis. Key components such as experimental diets, feeding frequency, nutrient composition, and performance evaluation criteria are described in this chapter. Chapter Four presents a detailed discussion of the findings obtained from the study. The results of growth performance parameters such as body weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion ratio, and mortality rates under different feeding strategies are analyzed and compared. Factors influencing the effectiveness of each feeding strategy and potential implications for commercial broiler production are discussed. In Chapter Five, the conclusions drawn from the study are summarized, highlighting the impact of different feeding strategies on the growth performance of broiler chickens. Recommendations for future research directions and practical implications for the poultry industry are provided based on the study findings. Overall, this thesis contributes to the existing knowledge on optimizing feeding strategies to enhance the growth performance of broiler chickens.
