Fertilizer use plays a key role in improving crop yields. However, excessive use of chemical fertilizers can degrade soil health and pollute the environment over long term. The present study aims to evaluate the effect of organic and inorganic fertilizers on the nutrition of maize (Zea mays L.), a major cereal crop. A field experiment was conducted using five fertilizer treatments farmyard manure, vermicompost, nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium (NPK), NPK + farmyard manure, and NPK + vermicompost. Soil and plant samples were collected and analyzed for various nutrients. Results showed that integrated use of organic and inorganic fertilizers improved soil fertility and crop nutrient uptake compared to sole use of chemical or organic fertilizers. This study provides insights into developing sustainable fertilizer management practices for maize cultivation.
