Abstract
The agricultural sector plays a vital role in ensuring food security and economic development in many countries. However, farmers face numerous challenges such as limited access to information, training, and resources. Agricultural extension services are crucial in addressing these challenges by providing farmers with the necessary knowledge and skills to improve their agricultural practices. In recent years, mobile technology has emerged as a promising tool for enhancing farmer training and knowledge transfer in agricultural extension services. This research aims to investigate the effectiveness of mobile technology in improving farmer training and knowledge transfer in agricultural extension services. The study begins with a comprehensive introduction that discusses the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. The literature review in Chapter Two provides an in-depth analysis of existing research on the use of mobile technology in agricultural extension services, highlighting its benefits and challenges. The review covers ten key areas including the role of mobile technology in agricultural extension, its impact on farmer training, knowledge transfer, and adoption of new agricultural practices. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology employed in this study, detailing the research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, data analysis procedures, and ethical considerations. The chapter also discusses the selection criteria for the study participants and the rationale behind the chosen research approach. Chapter Four presents the findings of the research, analyzing the data collected from farmers, extension workers, and other stakeholders involved in agricultural extension services.
