Abstract
Climate change poses significant challenges to agricultural productivity globally, with smallholder farmers in developing countries being particularly vulnerable. This study investigates the impact of climate change on agricultural productivity and explores the adaptation strategies employed by smallholder farmers in Nigeria. Through a case study approach, data was collected from smallholder farmers in different regions of Nigeria to assess the current situation and the measures taken to mitigate the effects of climate change on agriculture. The introduction provides an overview of the research problem, highlighting the importance of addressing climate change impacts on agriculture and the need for effective adaptation strategies. The background of the study contextualizes the research within the existing literature on climate change, agriculture, and smallholder farmers in Nigeria. The problem statement identifies the gaps in knowledge and the research questions that guide the study. The objectives of the study outline the specific goals and outcomes that the research aims to achieve.
