This thesis aims to assess the economic impact of climate change on smallholder farmers in these regions. The study is motivated by the urgent need to understand the challenges faced by smallholder farmers in adapting to changing climatic conditions and to identify strategies to enhance their resilience and sustainability. Chapter 1 provides an introduction to the research topic, including the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definitions of key terms. Chapter 2 presents a comprehensive literature review that examines existing research on the economic impact of climate change on smallholder farmers. The review covers various aspects such as the effects of climate change on crop yields, income, food security, and livelihoods of smallholder farmers. Chapter 3 outlines the research methodology employed in this study.
