Abstract
Climate change poses significant challenges to agriculture in developing countries, impacting both productivity and farmer income. This thesis presents an in-depth analysis of the effects of climate change on agricultural productivity and farmer income in a specific developing country. The study aims to identify the specific ways in which climate change influences agricultural activities and the resulting economic outcomes for farmers. The research methodology employed a combination of quantitative analysis, including statistical modeling, and qualitative methods such as interviews with farmers and agricultural experts. Data was collected from various sources, including government reports, academic studies, and field surveys. The findings of the study reveal that climate change has led to a decrease in agricultural productivity in the study area, primarily due to changes in rainfall patterns and increased frequency of extreme weather events. This has resulted in lower crop yields and reduced incomes for farmers, exacerbating poverty and food insecurity. The thesis discusses the implications of these findings for agricultural policy and practice in the context of climate change adaptation and mitigation. Recommendations are made for implementing sustainable agricultural practices, improving water management strategies, and enhancing farmer resilience to climate-related shocks.
