Climate change poses significant challenges to agricultural systems worldwide, particularly impacting smallholder farmers in developing countries. This thesis investigates the economic impact of climate change on smallholder farmers in a developing country context, focusing on the vulnerabilities and adaptation strategies employed by these farmers. Through a mixed-methods approach combining quantitative analysis and qualitative assessments, this study aims to provide valuable insights into the complex interactions between climate change and smallholder agriculture. The introduction sets the stage by outlining the background of the study, the problem statement, research objectives, limitations, scope, significance, and the structure of the thesis. The literature review critically examines existing research on climate change impacts on agriculture, smallholder farming, and adaptation strategies. This comprehensive review highlights gaps in the literature and informs the research methodology. Chapter three details the research methodology, including the study design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, and analytical tools employed. By using both primary and secondary data sources, this study ensures a robust analysis of the economic impacts of climate change on smallholder farmers.
