Thesis Abstract

<p> This research project aims to explore strategies for promoting adult literacy in non-native English speakers. Literacy skills are essential for individuals to fully participate in society, and for non-native English speakers, acquiring literacy in a second language can be a significant challenge. This study will examine the unique needs and challenges faced by non-native English speakers in developing literacy skills, explore effective instructional approaches and interventions, and analyze the impact of adult literacy programs on language proficiency and empowerment. By conducting a literature review, surveys, and interviews with adult learners and educators, this research project seeks to provide valuable insights into promoting adult literacy in non-native English speakers and offer recommendations for designing inclusive and effective literacy programs.<br> <br></p>
