This research project aims to investigate the impact of social media on mental health among adolescents. Social media has become an integral part of daily life for many individuals, especially adolescents. While it offers numerous benefits such as staying connected with friends and family, sharing experiences, and accessing information, there is growing concern about its negative effects on mental health. The study will examine the relationship between social media usage and various aspects of mental health, including self-esteem, body image, anxiety, depression, and overall psychological well-being. By conducting surveys and interviews with adolescents, the research will gather data on their social media habits, the content they engage with, and the impact it has on their mental health. Furthermore, this project will explore the role of social media platforms in shaping perceptions of self-worth and body image among adolescents. It will also investigate how cyberbullying and online harassment contribute to increased levels of anxiety and depression in this age group. The findings of this research will provide valuable insights into the complex interactions between social media use and mental health outcomes in adolescents. Understanding these relationships is crucial for developing effective strategies to promote positive mental health and well-being among young people in the digital age. By shedding light on the potential risks and benefits of social media for mental health, this study aims to inform parents, educators, mental health professionals, and policymakers about the importance of monitoring and supporting adolescents in their online activities.
