Abstract
This research project focuses on exploring the impact of social media on mental health among adolescents. The rise of social media usage among youth has raised concerns about its potential effects on mental well-being. The study aims to investigate the relationship between social media usage patterns and mental health outcomes in adolescents. The research will involve a quantitative survey conducted among a sample of adolescents aged 13 to 18 years. The survey will assess various aspects of social media use, including time spent on different platforms, types of content consumed, interaction with peers online, and self-reported mental health indicators such as stress, anxiety, and self-esteem. Data analysis will be conducted to identify any correlations between social media usage patterns and mental health outcomes. The study will also explore potential mediating factors such as parental monitoring of social media use, peer influence, and individual coping strategies. The findings of this research have the potential to contribute to the existing body of knowledge on the impact of social media on adolescent mental health. By identifying specific patterns of social media use that are associated with negative mental health outcomes, this study can inform strategies for promoting healthier online behaviors among youth.
