This study investigates the impact of social media usage on mental health among adolescents. With the widespread use of social media platforms among young people, concerns have been raised about its potential negative effects on mental well-being. The research aims to explore the relationship between social media use and mental health outcomes, including anxiety, depression, and self-esteem issues. A mixed-methods approach will be employed, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gather data from a sample of adolescents. The survey will assess the frequency and duration of social media use, types of platforms used, and self-reported mental health symptoms. Interviews will provide in-depth insights into the experiences and perceptions of adolescents regarding social media and its impact on their mental health. The study hypothesizes that excessive social media use may be associated with higher levels of anxiety and depression, as well as lower self-esteem among adolescents. By examining these relationships, the research aims to contribute to a better understanding of the complex interplay between social media and mental health in the adolescent population. The findings of this study may have implications for mental health interventions and policies aimed at promoting healthy social media use among young people.
