The project aims to investigate the impact of social media usage on mental health among adolescents. Social media has become an integral part of daily life for many individuals, particularly for young people. The project will explore how the various aspects of social media, such as usage patterns, content exposure, and interaction with others, can influence the mental well-being of adolescents. The research will employ a mixed-methods approach, utilizing both quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gather data from a sample of adolescents. The quantitative surveys will focus on assessing the frequency and duration of social media use, the types of content consumed, and self-reported mental health indicators. The qualitative interviews will provide a deeper understanding of the experiences and perceptions of adolescents regarding social media and its impact on their mental health. The project will also examine potential factors that may moderate or mediate the relationship between social media use and mental health outcomes. These factors may include individual characteristics such as self-esteem and coping strategies, as well as contextual factors like family support and peer relationships.
