Thesis Abstract

This research project aims to explore the role of financial technology (FinTech) in transforming the banking industry. FinTech refers to the innovative use of technology to deliver financial services in a more efficient, convenient, and customer-centric manner. The banking industry has been significantly impacted by the emergence of FinTech, with new players entering the market and traditional banks adopting technological advancements to stay competitive.

The research will adopt a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis of industry data and qualitative analysis of interviews with industry experts and banking professionals. The quantitative analysis will involve examining the adoption and impact of various FinTech solutions, such as mobile banking, digital payments, blockchain technology, and artificial intelligence, on key performance indicators of banks, including profitability, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

Additionally, the qualitative analysis will provide insights into the motivations, challenges, and strategies employed by banks in adopting and integrating FinTech solutions. Interviews with industry experts and banking professionals will shed light on the opportunities and risks associated with FinTech implementation, the changes in customer behavior and expectations, and the regulatory implications for the banking industry.
