Records management is a critical aspect of organizational operations as it involves the systematic control of an organization's records throughout their lifecycle. This research project aims to investigate records management practices in selected business organizations in Owerri metropolis. The study will focus on understanding the current state of records management, identifying challenges faced by organizations, and exploring potential improvements that can be made to enhance records management processes. The research will employ a mixed-methods approach, combining both qualitative and quantitative data collection methods. A sample of business organizations in Owerri metropolis will be selected for the study, and data will be collected through surveys, interviews, and document analysis. The qualitative data will provide insights into the perceptions and experiences of employees regarding records management practices, while the quantitative data will enable the researchers to identify trends and patterns in records management processes. The findings of the study are expected to provide valuable insights into the state of records management in business organizations in Owerri metropolis. By identifying the common challenges faced by organizations, the research aims to help organizations improve their records management practices and processes. The study will also explore potential solutions and best practices that can be adopted to enhance records management efficiency and effectiveness.
